New California Law on Evictions Going Into Effect January 2017
California law AB 2819 has a lot of people talking, some for and many against it. If you are a property owner or manager in California you need to be aware of this new law. The new law that will go into effect this coming January will keep you as a Landlord from being able to see if a prospective resident has had any previous unlawful detainer complaints.
This bill would permit a court to dismiss an unlawful detainer proceeding without prejudice if proof of service of the summons has not been filed within 60 days of the complaint’s filing.
This is just a summary so be sure to check out the full changes so you comply fully.
